I am honored and delighted that Press 53 has chosen my story collection, We Are a Teeming Wilderness, as the winner of their annual short story collection contest. The collection will be published in May 2023. Short stories were my first love as a writer, and I still love them because the genre invites experimentation and playfulness in form and voice, and because, as a reader, they so often knock me over emotionally in just a few pages.
